And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
