Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif Lam Mim. 1 These are verses of the Wise Book. 2 a guidance and mercy for the doers of good, 3 who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 It is they who are on guidance from their Lord, and only they are the successful. 5 And some people buy words of play, in order to mislead from Allah’s path, without knowledge; and to make it an article of mockery; for them is a disgraceful punishment. 6 When Our verses are recited to him, he turns his back in pride, as though he never heard them, and in his ears was heaviness. Give glad tidings to him of a painful punishment! 7 [As against this,] verily, those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall have gardens of bliss, 8 They shall abide in them forever. This is Allah's promise that shall come true. He is the Most Powerful, the Most Wise. 9 He has created the skies without any support that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We sent down water from the skies, and thus We made every kind of excellent plant grow there: 10 Such is Allah's creation. Show me, then, what any others, apart from Allah, have created. Nay, the fact is that the wrong-doers are in manifest error. 11
