We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 When the two receivers receive, sitting on the right and on the left. 17 whatever phrase he utters, an observer is present. 18 And death's agony comes in truth; that is what thou wast shunning! 19 And the trumpet blast will sound: It would be the Day of Doom. 20 Each person will arrive attended by an [angel] to drive him on and another to bear witness. 21 “You were indeed neglectful of this, so We have removed the veil for you, and your eyesight is sharp this day.” 22 His companion attendant will say, "I have here his record ready." 23 It will be said to the angels, “Both of you fling every excessive ungrateful, stubborn person into hell.” 24 "Every obstructor of good, transgressor, and the sceptic, 25 "Who set up another god beside Allah: Throw him into a severe penalty." 26 ۞ His companion will say: Our Lord! I did not lead him into inordinacy but he himself was in a great error. 27 (It was said): “Do not remonstrate in My presence. I had warned you. 28 The judgment passed by Me shall not be altered; but never do I do the least wrong unto My creatures!" 29
