The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the great news - 2 About which they have been differing? 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 Living therein for ages. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
