The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
