Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 And goblets set at hand 14 and arranged cushions 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
