The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 when Noah, their brother, said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 106 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 107 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 108 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 109 so fear you God, and obey you me.' 110 ۞ They replied, "Are we to believe in you when your followers are but the lowest of the low?" 111 He said, "And what is my knowledge of what they used to do? 112 Their account is only upon my Lord, if you [could] perceive. 113 Hence, I shall not drive away [any of] those [who profess to be] believers; 114 I am nothing but a plain warner." 115 They said: "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will be stoned to death." 116 He prayed: "O Lord, verily my people accuse me of lies. 117 So pass a clear judgement between me and them and rescue me and the believers with me." 118 We saved him and those who were with him in the laden ship, 119 then afterwards We drowned the rest. 120 There is certainly a sign in that; but most of them do not believe: 121 Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 122
