In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 Those are the signs of the Wise Book 2 for a guidance and a mercy to the good-doers 3 Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and accept faith in the Hereafter. 4 These are on guidance from their Lord, and these! they are the blissful ones. 5 But among men there is many a one that prefers a mere play with words [to divine guidance,] so as to lead [those] without knowledge astray from the path of God, and to turn it to ridicule: for such there is shameful suffering in store. 6 And when Our verses are recited to him he haughtily turns away as if he did not hear them – as if there is deafness in his ears; so give him the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 7 Lo! those who believe and do good works, for them are the gardens of delight, 8 Abiding in them; the promise of Allah; (a) true (promise), and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars that you see and cast on the earth firm mountains lest it should shake with you. Upon it He dispersed all manner of crawling thing, and He sent down water from the sky with which He caused to grow in it every generous kind. 10 Such is Allah's creation. Show me, then, what any others, apart from Allah, have created. Nay, the fact is that the wrong-doers are in manifest error. 11
