▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ I do not need to swear by the setting of the stars 75 And verily that is a mighty oath, if ye but knew! 76 That it is a Recitation honourable. 77 In a Register well-protected; 78 Which none can touch except the purified. 79 a sending down from the Lord of all the Worlds. 80 Is it this discourse that ye hold lightly? 81 do you make it your provision to belie it? 82 Why, then, when the soul leaps up to the throat of the dying 83 and you are [at that moment] looking on [helplessly] -- 84 And We are nearer to it than you, but you do not see-- 85 if you are not subject to anyone's authority, 86 Can you not bring him back? (Answer) if you are truthful 87 Then, if he is one of the honoured, 88 Then happiness and bounty and a garden of bliss. 89 And if he is one of the People on the Right, 90 Then: peace unto thee, for thou art of those on the right hand. 91 But if he be of them that cried lies, and went astray, 92 a welcome of burning despair [awaits him in the life to come,] 93 And burning in Hell-Fire. 94 This is indeed the ultimate truth. 95 So glorify the name of your Great Lord. 96
God the Almighty always says the truth.
