The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
