This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Even so, We have caused it to enter into the hearts of harmdoers: 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 And the Shaitans have not come down with it. 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 And your movements among those who bow in homage to God. 219 He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
