Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
