And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 As We fashioned jinns before from intense radiated heat. 27 Behold! thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man, from sounding clay from mud moulded into shape; 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 All the angels prostrated before Adam 30 But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis! what is your reason for not being among those who prostrated themselves?" 32 He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud." 33 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed. 34 and will be subjected to condemnation until the Day of Judgment." 35 Iblis prayed, "Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Judgment". 36 Allah said: "For sure you are granted respite 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 except Your sincere servants". 40 (Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 For whom the ordained place is surely Hell, 43 It hath seven gates, and each gate hath an appointed portion. 44
