Ad cried lies to the Envoys 123 Their brother Hud asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 124 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 125 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 126 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 127 "Do you build high palaces on every high place, while you do not live in them? 128 And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever? 129 And when you lay hands (on men) you lay hands (like) tyrants; 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 "And keep your duty to Him, fear Him Who has aided you with all (good things) that you know. 132 amply provided you with flocks, and children, 133 And gardens and springs. 134 Verily I fear for you the torment of a Mighty Day. 135 They said: "It is the same to us if you warn us or do not warn. 136 this is nothing but a habit of the ancients: 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 So they rejected him, and We destroyed them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 139 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 140
