This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 upon your heart (Prophet Muhammad), in order to be one of the warners, 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 Truly, it is in the Books of the ancients. 196 And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 to admonish them. We have never been unjust. 209 Not by the Satans has it been brought down; 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 Warn your nearest kinsmen, 214 And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 Who sees you when you stand up. 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
