The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 and gave you repose in sleep, 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 , A fitting reward. 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30
