The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
