And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They said, 'We serve idols, and continue cleaving to them. 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 or can they benefit or harm you?" 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 Said [Abraham]: "Have you, then, ever considered what it is that you have been worshipping 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 “And when I fall ill, so it is He Who heals me.” 80 And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again), 81 and who, [hope, will forgive me my faults on Judgment Day! 82 "O my Sustainer! Endow me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and make me one with the righteous, 83 And appoint for me an honourable mention among the posterity 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 "And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up;- 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 Thereupon they will be hurled into hell - they, as well as all [others] who had been lost in grievous error, 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 And there and then, blaming one another, they [who had grievously sinned in life] will exclaim: 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 and we have no intercessors now, 100 “Nor a caring friend.” 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
