Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blest be He in whose hand is the dominion, and He is over everything Potent. 1 Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving; 2 He Who created the seven heavens one above another: No want of proportion wilt thou see in the Creation of (Allah) Most Gracious. So turn thy vision again: seest thou any flaw? 3 Then return thy gaze again, and again, and thy gaze comes back to thee dazzled, aweary. 4 And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire. 5 The chastisement of Hell awaits those who disbelieve in their Lord. What a wretched destination! 6 When they shall be cast therein, they shall hear a loud moaning of it as it heaves, 7 Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner? 8 They will say, "Yes, someone did come to warn us, but we rejected him saying, 'God has revealed nothing. You are in great error". 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 They will then confess their sins: but far will be (Forgiveness) from the Companions of the Blazing Fire! 11 Surely forgiveness and a mighty reward await those who fear Allah without seeing Him. 12 Be secret in your speech, or proclaim it, He knows the thoughts within the breasts. 13 Does the One Who is Subtle, All-aware, and Who created all things not know all about them? 14
