Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
