The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes; 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
