A group of his people who disbelieved him and had called the Day of Judgment a lie and whom We had made prosperous in this life, said, "He is a mere mortal like you. He eats and drinks as you do. 33 If you were to obey a human being like yourselves, you will certainly be losers. 34 Does he promise you that after you die and become dust and bones you will be brought back to life again? 35 ۞ What you are promised is indeed far-fetched. 36 There exists only our present life: we die and we live [but once], and shall never be raised up again. 37 He is only a man who has invented a lie about God, and we are not going to believe him!" 38 He said, “My Lord! Help me as they deny me.” 39 Allah said: after a little while they will become regretful. 40 Then a mighty blast quite justly overtook them, and We reduced them to a rubble. So away with the wrong-doing folk! 41 Thereafter, after them, We produced other generations; 42 No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it). 43 Thereafter We sent Our apostles, successively. So oft as there came unto a community their apostle, they belied him, so We made them follow one another, and We made them bywords; so away with a people who believe not! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our Signs and a clear authority 45 to the Pharaoh and his nobles. But they behaved proudly and thought themselves superior people. 46 And they said: Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves, and whose folk are servile unto us? 47 They called them liars and consequently were destroyed. 48 We gave Moses the Book so that they might be guided. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a miracle and settled them on a high land, quite secure and watered by a spring. 50
