And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 We glorify God." 166 Even though they (unbelievers) say, 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 will certainly be victorious 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 (Muhammad), stay away from them for a while 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards – so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 Leave them alone for a while, 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182
