HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
