▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay! By the moon 32 and the night when it retreats 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 a warning to humankind, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What took you into the hell?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
