The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 those who, when they are to receive their due from [other] people, demand that it be given in full 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 On a grievous day, 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - 8 It is a written book. 9 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies, 10 Who give the lie to the day of judgment. 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 But, the record of the righteous is [preserved] in the 'Illiyyin -- 18 And what could make thee conceive what that mode most lofty will be? 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 With the wine is a drink from Tasnim, 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 So, the believers will laugh at the infidels on that day, 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
