Thorns (Al-Masad)
5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Destroyed were the hands of Abu Lahab, and he lay utterly doomed. 1 His wealth will not suffice him, neither what he has gained; 2 He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames! 3 and also his wife who carries the fuel, 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5
True are the words of God the Almighty.
