So We saved the children of Israel from degrading suffering 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 And We chose them, purposely, above (all) creatures. 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 "There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We did not create them except with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 Save those on whom Allah will have mercy. Verily He! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
