Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he went to his home so he brought a healthy calf. 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' 31 They said, 'We have been sent to a people of sinners, 32 to loose upon them stones of clay 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46
