Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
