Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 storming tempestuously 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a known extent. 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
