The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
