The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens with constellations, 1 by the Promised Day, 2 and by the witness and what is witnessed: 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses. 7 They had naught against them save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of Praise, 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Verily those who affected the believing men and the believing women, and then repented not, theirs shall be the torment of Hell, and theirs shall be the torment of burning. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 VERILY, thy Sustainer's grip is exceedingly strong! 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 Honorable Owner of the Throne, 15 Effecter of what He intends. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 of Pharaoh and of Thamood? 18 In fact the disbelievers are in denial. 19 and God is behind them, encompassing. 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 In a guarded tablet. 22

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
