The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Triumphant indeed are the believers, 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 who give charity, 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 These are the heirs 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 And then you will certainly die, 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 And We sent down water from the sky in proper measure, then stored it in the earth; and indeed We are Able to take it away! 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 and upon them and on the ships you are carried. 22
