And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They replied, "We worship idols and shall continue to worship them". 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: Have you then considered what you have been worshipping: 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 "O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 and grant me an honourable reputation among posterity, 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 And the (Hell) Fire will be placed in full view of the erring. 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 And the whole hosts of Iblis (Satan) together. 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 "By God, we were most obviously astray 97 When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds; 98 “And none misled us but the guilty.” 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
