۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 but [since it will be too late,] they will turn upon one another, demanding of each other [to relieve them of the burden of their past sins]. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 Therefore, on that Day they will all share Our punishment. 33 Even so We do with the sinners; 34 For when it was said to them: 'There is no god except Allah' they were always proud 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 a cup from a spring being passed round to them, 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 Who used to say: 'Are you one of those who can testify to the truth? 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up. 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 Save our first death, and are we not to be tormented? 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
