(Muhammad), remind them, by the Grace of your Lord, that you are neither a soothsayer or an insane person. 29 Or do they say: "[He is but] a poet - let us wait what time will do unto him"? 30 Tell them: "Keep on expecting, I am expecting with you." 31 Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk? 32 Do they say, "He has falsely invented it (the Quran)?" In fact, they themselves have no faith. 33 Then let them bring an announcement like it if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created out of naught? Or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather they are not certain. 36 Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the authority? 37 Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority. 38 Does God have daughters while you have sons? 39 Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt? 40 Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down? 41 Or seek they to ensnare (the messenger)? But those who disbelieve, they are the ensnared! 42 Or have they a god other than God? Exalted be God over what they ascribe as partners [to Him]! 43 And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs, wherein they shall (perforce) swoon (with terror),- 45 The day on which their struggle shall not avail them aught, nor shall they be helped. 46 For the harmdoers there is indeed, a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 And be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord; surely thou art before Our eyes. And proclaim the praise of thy Lord when thou arisest, 48 and exalt Him in the night and at the declining of the stars. 49
