The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Created man, 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
