The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 (Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt; 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 And the preceders are the preceders. 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 a good many of those of olden times, 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and spreading shade 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 And abundant fruit, 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
