Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To clear or to warn. 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 for an appointed time? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 And those that strike violently, 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 The heavens split asunder, 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
