The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
