Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Oh, the chargers that run panting, 1 Striking sparks of fire 2 And push home the charge in the morning, 3 Stirring up thereby [clouds of] dust, 4 Cleaving, as one, the centre (of the foe), 5 That man is ungrateful to his Lord 6 And lo! he is a witness unto that; 7 And indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense. 8 ۞ Does he not then know when what is in the graves is raised, 9 and that which is in the chest is brought out, 10 That their Lord had been Well-acquainted with them, (even to) that Day? 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
