And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out* to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.) 41 [So he was told], "Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a [spring for] a cool bath and drink." 42 And We gave him his family and the like of them with them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to those possessed of understanding. 43 And take in your hand a green branch and beat her with It and do not break your oath; surely We found him patient; most excellent the servant! Surely he was frequent in returning (to Allah). 44 And make mention of Our bondmen, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of parts and vision. 45 Assuredly We purified them with a quality most pure, the remembrance of the Abode, 46 They are the chosen ones, the excellent in Our sight. 47 And make mention of Ishmael and Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. All are of the chosen. 48 This is a Message (of admonition): and verily, for the righteous, is a beautiful Place of (Final) Return,- 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for plenteous fruit and drink. 51 ۞ And with them will be virgins of refraining looks and of equal age. 52 This it is what you (Al-Muttaqun - the pious) are promised for the Day of Reckoning! 53 this, verily, shall be Our provision [for you,] with no end to it! 54 This [is so]. But indeed, for the transgressors is an evil place of return - 55 Hell; which they shall enter; what an evil resting-place! 56 This - let them taste it: scalding water and corruption. 57 And similar other punishments in pairs. 58 (Observing their followers advancing to Hell they will say, among themselves: “This is a troop rushing in to you. There is no welcome for them. They are destined to roast in the Fire.” 59 (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!" 60 They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!" 61 And they will say: 'Why do we not see the men that we counted as being among the wicked in here? 62 Did we take them (wrongly) for a laughing-stock, or have our eyes missed them? 63 Indeed this is really true – the people of the hell quarrelling among themselves. 64
