Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 As a warning unto men, 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
