Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
