The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
