The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
