The people of the Wood too called the messengers liars. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 “You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.” 186 But in case you are speaking the truth, then make a segment of the sky to fall upon us." 187 He. said: My Lord is the Best Knower of that which ye work. 188 But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day. 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
