Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 Except the slaves of Allah, whom He choses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah). 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 They used to say before: 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 Do they want to suffer Our torment immediately? 176 But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 And watch, for they will soon see. 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
