The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and gently take it away; 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
